It’s hard to measure where riding in the “hurricane seat” of a Blackhawk helicopter, getting stranded on a train in Eastern Europe, hiking to a series of waterfalls in a remote corner of the Grand Canyon, spending a summer digging in the trenches at an archaeological site in Cyprus, or landing a role as an extra in the 2012 film, “The Place Beyond the Pines,” shot in Schenectady rank as Katie’s most interesting escapade, but they’re all pretty epic and provide a peek at her personality and pursuit of adventure.
A life-long Schenectadian despite being born across the Atlantic in Saudi Arabia, the Electric City is Katie’s hometown, and while she’s been lucky enough to log some travel time and experience a few of the world’s greatest cities and most precious natural wonders, there’s no place like home.
A graduate of Schenectady High School, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University at Albany, but not before completing two years as a cadet at West Point, where she rowed stroke up and down the Hudson River on the women's crew team, learned the true meaning of teamwork, and realized that victory is so much sweeter when you Beat Navy! Just don’t ask her what’s for lunch…
Katie is no stranger to the gig economy and used to the hustle; prior to joining Paladin, she had her hand in countless projects crossing multiple industries throughout the 518 and beyond with outlets like Two Buttons Deep and Yelp Albany to name a few, just the way she likes it.
These days, she’s a graduate student in the Communications@Syracuse Online Master’s Program at the world-renowned Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, and when she’s not up to her eyeballs in homework and cranking out witty social media captions she can be found exploring the Adirondacks, spending time with her family and her cute-as-a-button two year-old niece, Finley, and working her way through, “Cook This Book,” a cookbook for dummies written by her favorite celebrity-chef and Skidmore College grad, Molly Baz.
Katie is pumped to be on the Paladin team where she considers everyday an opportunity to put on her creative thinking cap and flex her noodle while helping clients reach their social media goals, one post at a time.
